Elena Kulakova oversees a Seeway supported feeding programme in the Ukraine. We have been working in with Elena since 2001, predominantly feeding children. Due to the poverty, unemployment, drug and alcohol abuse by the adults since the demise of communism, the children have sadly suffered greatly.

The work is based near Zhitomir, approximately 100 miles from Kiev, the Ukrainian capital.

Some of the original funding received was used to build and equip a kitchen which is managed by volunteers. This is now used to ensure that between 20 and 30 children receive a hot meal daily.

After having been part of this feeding programme, some children come to Pastor Elena’s church which enables them to grow spiritually. This in turn can affect the whole family in a positive way with change for the better.

It costs between £7.00 and £10.00 per month to give a child one substantial meal a day. If you wish to contribute towards this work please click here.
