Bibles for Children and Young People.
The Sow and Sow Scheme began several years ago by the Seeway Trust to provide people with their own Bible. In many developing countries Christians and certainly new converts do not have their own copy of the Bible. This is usually due to the cost or availability. - This scheme is not in conflict with others who give Bibles to people who are not Christian's.

Sow & Sow bibles at Katesh

Over the years the Trust has been able to give Bibles to people in India, Ukraine, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya and Nigeria. There is a great need to continue with this scheme and requests have been repeatedly made for more copies, especially in India for Alfred and his team in Karnatica State, where poor Christians are desperate for the word. Recently discussions with a church group in Ethiopia have taken place for their need for Bibles and Christian teaching materials.

The Trust has always sent money to the people who are heading up the team which enables the support to be given. They can then buy the Bibles in the local language or even dialect; there is also a saving then on carriage.

Aklilu Dogisso is the co-ordinator of the activities of the Brethren Church in Ethiopia and is linked to Send a Cow which is another UK based Charity that supports people who live in the Developing World.

The Brethren Church in Ethiopia began in 1952 when missionaries from the UK started the first church. There are now 80 churches and 13 preaching sites in the country, and they have 12.000 members

Akilia has told the Trust that they have a Bible college which trains about 40 students a year. Most of these students are evangelists. Each student is in need of a Bible, Bible dictionary, concordance and Bible commentary. The total cost per student is an incredible £10. There is also a need for Bibles for Christians who are not able to afford their own. A Bible in the local language Oromo will cost around £3.

If you would like to support this project, would you please send your gift to the Seeway Trust and mark it for Sow and Sow. Should you wish to make a regular gift towards Sow and Sow scheme please use one of our standing order forms, return it to the Seeway Trust marked Sow and Sow.

Thank you.

Bibles for Children and Young People.

After a number of visits to countries in the third world, it became apparent that many children and young people did not have their own bible, the word of God. In one church there was 20 children and one bible between them. God has put it on our heart to help provide children and young people in poor families to own their bible. In some cases this will be the only book in the home.

'Ghana - Children receiving & using their bibles'

This scheme has now been running since 2001.

The cost of these bibles vary from place to place, we do not buy them in the UK they are bought locally. We ask people who have the heart to see a bible in the hands of a child or young person for £5 which we believe is the average cost of a good bible in the third world. Sometimes the bibles are cheaper than £5, - then your money helps to buy more bibles.

Thank you

For as little as £5 you can provide a bible for a child.
